Garth Badger is not just a talented photographer at his Auckland creative agency THIEVERY- he’s an out-of-the-box thinker, truly experiential creator, and a pretty nice dude to boot. He is also the proud owner of two of the most photogenic pups in Auckland - Italian Greyhounds Nico and Luna.

How long have you had Nico and Luna?
Nico and Luna are Brother & sister from the same litter. I initially got Nico from the breeder and roughly 6 months later I was contacted by the owner of Luna who was no longer able to look after her and looking to re-home her. Bringing Luna home was the easiest and best decision I ever made!
-
What is their favourite activity?
They have 2 favourites , beach walks & sleep. Even though they are at different ends of the spectrum they seem to enjoy both equally!
-
We’ve seen some pics of Nico with some pretty big names, do the dogs get involved in your shoots often?
They do seem to manage to get into photos frequently! From a young age Ive been photographing them and rewarding good photos with treats so they’ve come recognise the camera as a source of snacks.

What is your favourite thing about your relationship with Nico and Luna?
After a stressful day, coming home, seeing them just be excited to see me always calms me, They help me see the bigger picture and not sweat the small stuff.

To anyone considering getting an Italian greyhound, what is your most important piece of advice?
They are nowhere near as chill as full size greyhounds, good luck keeping them off the furniture/bed, and most people seem to have them as a pair as they have issues with separation anxiety.
